Villagers will be updated tonight on the ongoing works to repair a huge cavity which caused a road collapse.
Dozens of people are expected to attend the meeting of Leeds parish council at 7.30pm, to hear the latest on Upper Street.
The street has been closed since a hole appeared inches below the surface outside Milners cul-de-sac in November.
At tonight's discussion, Cllr Gary Cooke, from Kent County Council, will explain the current status of the work and what the next steps will be.
He will also address a proposal raised at the last village meeting to reduce the weight restriction through Leeds, from 17 tonnes to seven-a-half tonnes.
Members of the parish council wrote a letter to KCC to say they do not accept the local authority needs to wait until Upper Street reopens to start the consultation process for the lower limit.
They included a report, which they commissioned, which shows the information is already available from the introduction of a 20mph speed limit outside the primary school.
In another bid to tackle the issue of overweight HGVs, the council has decided to use up to £10,000 of reserved funds to train two special constables to monitor the traffic. It will be the first area in Kent to commission its own policeman.
