Lorry driver witness sought after fatal crash involving Fiat Panda and Kawasaki motorbike in Maidstone Road, Marden

Detectives investigating a fatal collision are looking to speak to the driver of a lorry or tipper truck who is believed to have stopped briefly at the scene.

A motorbike rider in his 50s died following a crash which happened in Maidstone Road, Marden at around 3.40pm on Sunday (September 8).

The collision involved a white Fiat Panda and a green Kawasaki motorcycle and happened near the junction with Underlyn Lane.

Police are continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward and help their investigation.

This includes the driver of a lorry or tipper truck who was at the scene but who is not believed to have been involved in the collision itself.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Claire Fullagar, said: “It has been reported the driver of an aggregates lorry stopped briefly at the scene to check on the welfare of the person in the Fiat Panda.

“Allegedly, they left their details at the scene, with another member of the public.

“We are now looking to identify the lorry driver, and encourage them, the person in receipt of their details, or anyone with information, to contact police.”

Anyone with information about the vehicle is urged to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01622 798538, quoting reference HW/CF/096/24.

Motorists with dashcam and residents with private CCTV are also asked to check for relevant footage.
