KENT Police have issued a warning after incidents in which boys have been approached by a stranger in a car.
Maidstone and Malling Police say the first incident happened when a small boy was approached in Oaktree Avenue, Mangravet, Maidstone, by a man in a black car who asked him to get inside.
The five-year-old boy did not get into the car and the man drove away.
The second incident occurred three days later while boys were walking along nearby Mangravet Avenue, Maidstone. They saw a black car - possibly a BMW - approach a group of boys ahead of them. Again, the boys did not get into the car and it drove away.
A similar car has been seen driving around the county town's Shepway area.
Police wish to stress that no attempt has been made in terms of physical contact with the children involved in these incidents. However, police are asking members of the public to be vigilant and to report anything suspicious immediately.
Anyone with information about these incidents should contact Maidstone and Malling Police on 01622 608189 or contact the Neighbourhood Watch on 01622 608173
