21:17, 24 September 2024
Three fire engines were called to a roof blaze earlier today.
Crews headed to Fauchons Lane in Maidstone just after 4.15pm to reports of a fire in the roof of a bungalow.
The fire is believed to have started when the warmth of a light bulb caused a dried out wasps nest to catch alight.
Three fire engines attended and spent almost an hour battling the flames.
A woman was checked over by SECAmb paramedics as a precaution due to light smoke inhalation.
In addition to the fire engines, a height vehicle came to support the efforts.
The crews, wearing breathing apparatus, put the fire out using a hose reel jet.
