Esso petrol station at Maidstone Services runs out of fuel

12:14, 28 May 2016

As hundreds of families set off on their half-term holidays, one Maidstone petrol station has run out of fuel.

Highways bosses warned motorists wouldn't be able to fill up at the Esso garage at the Maidstone Services, off junction 8 of the M20 (Leeds).

It comes a day after drivers heading to the continent were warned to have extra supplies due to strikes by French oil workers.

Hundreds are also expected to be travelling to Dover for this afternoon's right-wing demonstration.

Esso has been approached for comment. It is unclear when supplies will be restored.
