10:09, 31 March 2018
Maidstone's Easter 2018 Tattoo Extravaganza got under way this morning at the Kent Showground at Detling.
The three-day event runs until Bank Holiday Monday and there are 134 tattoo artists from across the country waiting to impress visitors with their skills.
There is live music from 20 bands including What About Elsa and Gallows Circus, plus a host of stalls selling everything from a coffee to a Harley Davidson.
The Mayor of Maidstone, Cllr Malcolm Greer, and his Mayoress Brenda, will officially declare the festival open at 11am.
It is not known whether the Mayor himself intends to get a tattoo.
Day entry is £10, with children free. No alcohol is permitted to be brought into the festival.
