Police appeal for witnesses after woman, 22, dies in fatal M20 crash near junction 6 and 5 for Maidstone

A woman has died after the car she was in crashed into the back of another vehicle on the hard shoulder of the M20.
The accident happened at about 2.20pm yesterday on the London-bound carriageway near junction 6 for Maidstone , and 5 for Aylesford.
Police say a white Mercedes-Benz E220 crashed into the rear of a blue Mitsubishi L200 which was parked on the hard shoulder.
This had been involved in an earlier accident with a white Ford Kuga that had collided with a crash barrier.
A 22-year-old woman in the Mercedes-Benz died at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.
A 50-year-old woman suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The air ambulance was called and the motorway was closed for several hours while police carried out enquiries.
