At least 10 police vehicles and armed police were seen at a block of flats early this morning after a woman died.
The officers were joined by two crews from the ambulance service at Riverhill Flats, off London Road, Maidstone.
Police were called by SECAmb and a woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her next of kin have been informed and it is not being treated as suspicious.
Police also confirmed armed officers were sent as a precaution to the ambulance service's call for assistance.
John Wallman, 18, of Worcester Road, was driving past the scene on his way to pick up his girlfriend from work.

He said: "We went past and armed police were there as well as ambulances and over 10 police cars.
"I couldn’t believe what we was seeing, it was a lot of police, especially for 2am and on Rocky Hill - it’s normally very quiet there."
One resident at the flats said there was an incident in the rear car park.
