Woman dies after crash on A249 near Stockbury

A Sittingbourne woman has died after a crash on the A249 this morning.
Emergency services were called at 6.33am after two cars collided on the Maidstone-bound carriageway near Stockbury.
Police have now revealed a woman in her 60s was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her next of kin have been informed.
Police are appealing for witnesses after a red Vauxhall Insignia and a white Ford Fiesta collided near the junction with Oad Street.
Closures were put in place on both carriageways, which were lifted after six hours.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
