A woman was flown to a London hospital and a man was arrested following a three-vehicle crash on the M20.
Police, paramedics and the air ambulance were called to the coastbound carriageway near Junction 5 for Aylesford last Friday (August 9).
A woman, in her 30s, was flown to a London hospital with serious injuries.
A 35-year-old man from Tonbridge was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of drugs and has been released on bail until November 10, while an investigation is under way.
The crash happened at around 6pm and traffic was stopped on both sides of the motorway between the junctions for Aylesford and Maidstone while the emergency services attended.
By 8pm, the London-bound traffic had been released but the coastbound carriageway was still closed for a number of hours.
Police are now appealing for anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage to come foward.
Anyone witnesses who have not yet spoken to police should call 01622 604100, quoting reference 09-1149.
Motorists with dashcam are also asked to check for relevant footage.
