Fire in kitchen of bungalow in Horton Downs, Downswood near Maidstone leads to woman in 80s being taken to hospital

An elderly woman has been taken to hospital following a blaze in her kitchen.
Firefighters from two crews were called to Horton Downs in Downswood at 10.30am and entered the bungalow wearing breathing apparatus.
It took them 20 minutes to put out the flames, and clear the house of smoke.
The woman, believed to be in her 80s, was treated at the scene for breathing in smoke and taken to hospital following further treatment from paramedics.
