The family of a teenager tragically killed in a road accident in Coxheath have today described her as a "determined, thoughtful and generous" daughter.
Zoe Georgiou, a 16-year-old pupil at Invicta Grammar School, died when she was hit by car near Park Way on Saturday.
She was walking with her boyfriend Joe at around 6pm when she was struck by the silver Mazda and - despite the efforts of emergency services and those who came to her aid - was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a touching tribute, she was described today as a beautiful young girl who was both a high achiever and popular, with many friends.
Her family said: "As Zoe grew up she took great pride in her personal appearance which together with her natural good looks made her a stunningly beautiful young girl.
"However her greatest asset was her ability to make and stay friends with so many people that she met, evidenced by the enormous number of flowers and letters of tribute being left at the roadside since her death."
They added she had showed exceptional artistic talent by the age of four and went on to excel in music, learning to play instruments including the violin, clarinet and trombone.
A keen gymnast with Pegasus Gymnastics Club and a swimmer with Maidstone Swimming Club, she also played football with Maidstone Girls. She was also a cheerleader, performed ballet and danced at Maidstone Dance Studios.
"Zoe was much loved and will be dreadfully missed by all her family, friends and indeed everyone that she met..." - Zoe Georgiou's family
Her family added: "Zoe was much loved and will be dreadfully missed by all her family, friends and indeed everyone that she met.
"She was a wonderfully thoughtful and generous child who was not only determined to achieve success in her life but who was great fun to be around."
The statement added: "Zoe was also enjoying a relationship with a kind and caring boyfriend, Joe, which was bringing out the best in her and helping her grow into a more confident young lady.
"Sleep tight Angel, you will never be forgotten."
A Facebook tribute site to Zoe has been "liked" by thousands and fellow students at her school in Huntsman Lane, Maidstone, urged others to wear bright clothes to classes in honour of her on Monday.
Police have stressed it was not a hit and run incident and the driver was not arrested.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are piecing together the events leading up to the collision. Anyone who can help is asked to phone the witness appeal line on 01622 798 538.
