One of Alex Akrofi's first acts after joining Maidstone United will be to shake hands with Sonny Miles.
The pair had a running battle during the FA Cup match between United and Brentwood last month that brought striker Akrofi to boss Jay Saunders' attention.
Akrofi won the personal duel with Miles even though Stones went through with an injury-time goal.
Now he's on the same side as Miles after leaving Brentwood to sign an 18-month deal at the Gallagher Stadium.
He's looking forward to seeing him again and outlined the qualities that gave the Stones defender such a tough time.
Akrofi scored on his debut when much-changed Stones beat Cray in the League Cup on Tuesday night.
He said: "I can't wait to see Sonny Miles and give him a handshake. I'm looking forward to more battles in training!
"I'm a diminutive striker, that's the word I'd go with.
"I've got a bit of pace, I'm quite strong and I can lay on a pass.
"I've scored six goals this season and have six assists as well."
Akrofi was surprised to learn of United's interest but is determined to take the chance after enjoying his first experience of the Gallagher Stadium.
He said: "I loved playing in front of lots of fans and I had a good game even though we lost.
"I found out about the interest from Maidstone last week and decided to speak to Jay.
"He spoke well about the club and how he could help me develop and I decided to go for it.
"I didn't know much about Maidstone. I had no reason to playing in Ryman North but I knew they were flying.
"I was surprised Maidstone came in for me. There are lots of strikers in the Ryman Prem they could have signed but they've gone for little 19-year-old Alex.
"I've come here to learn and I know I'll be given a chance."
