Sam Corne is Maidstone’s most improved player this season, according to manager Hakan Hayrettin.
The midfielder has put an injury-hit 2019/20 campaign behind him to play a starring role in United’s midfield.
His performances have caught the eye of Hayrettin, who has also named his surprise package.
“For me, our most improved player from last season is Sam Corne,” said Hayrettin.
“He had that knee injury last season, which set him back, but his performances this season have been a real plus.
“Everyone’s doing well and there’s a good spirit and togetherness in the camp, which is pleasing.
“It’s hard to pinpoint individuals but I think the one who’s come in and surprised us is Raphe Brown.
“He came in from Herne Bay and I don’t think anyone expected him to do as well as he’s done at left-back for us.
“I know he’s injured at the moment but he came in and did an exceptional job for us, didn’t he?”
Hayrettin will see if it’s possible to strengthen his squad in the new year.
With the Football League transfer window opening, there could be opportunities.
The Stones boss said: “A lot of players become available at this time of year. You’re always going to look and I’m no different. We’ll see if we can do anything.”
