Matt Ford will tee off hoping to end a run of two missed cuts at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth on Thursday.
And the Bearsted golfer said he won't be lacking in inspiration to do so following his visit to the home of late great Seve Ballesteros while he was in Spain for the Open de Espana last week.
Ford said going to the home of the five-time major winner, who died in 2011, was something he’ll always cherish.
He said: “Pedrena is a beautiful quiet place - it was inspirational being there. It was quite emotional seeing his home and it actually felt like part of him was still there.
“I loved seeing his Masters green jackets, eagle goblets and all photos and trophies, gold putters, tour badges and old clubs.
“Seeing how successful he was, how he loved golf and how he just kept everything.
“He was, and still is, such an inspirational character the way he played and practised.
“I love the way he was an artist with the club and worked so hard and had so much love for the game.
“He was so confident and strong in his beliefs, but loved to give to people in lots of ways.”
Ford finished in a tie for 28th in the Open de Espana after playing the final round alongside defending champion Miguel Angel Jimenez at the Real Club de Golf El Prat on the outskirts of Barcelona.
Jimenez finished second, four shots behind the winner, Englishman James Morrison, while Ford finished 10 shots off the lead.
As for his preparation for Wentworth, Ford said it had been good.
Ford said: “I did some good work last week in Spain. I know the course here, it’s demanding off the tee, but rarely scoring is low.
“So it’s a case of keeping it on the short stuff and taking the chances when they come.
“I like the course and have had some regional wins there but I have missed the cut the last two times I have played in this event.
“So I hope I can play well and put myself in a position to put that right.”
