Welling boss Jamie Day has praised midfielder Harry Beautyman after he joined League 1 Peterborough.

Beautyman has scored 11 goals this season and joins Posh on loan until January when the move is made permanent for an undisclosed fee.

Day, who signed Beautyman from Conference South Sutton in August 2013, said: "I'd like to congratulate Harry on his move into league football.

"Harry was a player I had tracked for a while and I was delighted to get him.

"He had an up and down start with injuries but we could see in training what he was capable of.

"He has been first-class to work with and to manage. His attitude has been fantastic and he fully deserves this chance."

Day, who is now tasked with the job of replacing his side's main source of goals, said: "His goals and workrate this season have been valuable and he deserved his recent England C call-up.

"He will be missed by everyone at the club but it again shows that this club can work with good young players and move them onto full-time football."

Beautyman's last appearance for the Wings was in Saturday's 2-1 win over FC Halifax.
