Medway and Maidstone decathlete Martin Brockman recalls Delhi glory as he looks to repeat Commonwealth Games success for England in Glasgow

Martin Brockman is out to repeat his medal success of four years ago after being named in England’s Commonwealth Games squad.
The Maidstone decathlete rose to prominence when he set seven personal bests to win bronze at the 2010 Games in Delhi.
He missed out on a place at the London Olympics but has the chance to defend his Commonwealth medal when Glasgow 2014 starts next month.
Brockman, 26, said: “Delhi feels like a long time ago now but going through the selection process for Glasgow gets you back in the spirit.
“I do still think about Delhi but you have to move on and nobody cares what you did in the past. It’s more something to look back on when I retire.
“Glasgow is similar to last time in that I should finish fifth or sixth, but I performed out of my skin to win bronze and if I could do that again it would feel like winning gold.
“First place should go to the Canadian Damian Warner but, after him, there’s a group of guys fighting for silver and bronze down to fifth place.”
