Charity cricket spectacular attracts big names

A STAR studded Lashings CC team will take on an Old England XI at the Mote in Maidstone later this year in support of the UK Brain Tumour Society.
The ex-England side will be captained by Alan Igglesden, the former Kent bowler, who is himself a brain tumour sufferer.
It will also include Derek Underwood, Devon Malcolm, Matthew Fleming, Phil Tufnell, Alan Wells, Vince Wells, Martin McCague, Tim Munton and Angus Fraser.
The match is scheduled for Friday, August 20, with a 2pm start. Admission will be £10 for adults, with various concessions for children and OAPs.
The match will be followed by a celebrity ball to be held at the Ramada Hotel at Hollingbourne, near Maidstone.
Tickets to the four-course dinner and ball, limited to 360 diners, can be obtained from Anne-Marie Dickinson, priced £125 a head. For further details telephone 01959 563003.
