Cruel FA Cup night for Stones and Invicta
00:00, 17 October 2003
BOTH Maidstone United and Folkestone Invicta crashed out of the FA Cup last night in a cruel fashion.
Kent League side Maidstone fought back from 2-0 down away to Ryman Premier League side Bishop's Stortfort, only to lose 3-2 to a last minute goal by Glen Southam.
Folkestone held Dr Martens Premier League team Welling to a 2-2 draw after extra time, but lost 5-3 on penalties.
The results mean Kent will have just two representatives in the 4th qualifying round, with Gravesend & Northfleet travelling to Exeter City and Margate away to Grays Athletic.
