Maidstone United's Rory Hill says the banter in the dressing room helps the club towards success

Rory Hill is ready to fight back in the Twitter banter that contributes to Maidstone’s ‘legendary’ dressing room.
Winger Hill rates the team spirit at the Gallagher Stadium as the best he’s known in football.
He is regularly the butt of jokes and was this week compared to Home Alone character Buzz by captain Steve Watt after sporting a new haircut in the win at Bognor Regis.
Hill is ready to get his own back on Watt and has manager Jay Saunders in his sights too.
He said: “I’m on the end of all the jokes but, don’t worry, I’ve got something up my sleeve! Watty tweeted the picture of Buzz from Home Alone and Jay likes to think he’s got a bit of banter. He calls me a little hobbit.
“Our dressing room is legendary. There’s so much banter flying about and it’s such a massive part of what we do. You need to have that if you’re going to do well.
“I’ve played for a few teams where the banter isn’t there and you can tell straight away on the pitch.”
Maidstone celebrated their victory at Bognor by singing Christmas songs on the way home, led by Frannie Collin and Scottish skipper Watt.
Hill added: “The trouble with Watty is nobody can understand him with his accent. He’s a nightmare. We all just nod at him. Jerrome Sobers plays alongside him and he says he doesn’t have a clue what he’s saying!”
