Maidstone have challenged midfielder Zihni Temelci to earn a deal with the club.
The Turkish-Cypriot youngster has joined the Stones on non-contract terms, making his debut as a second-half substitute at Blackpool.
There'd been interest from League 2 club Crawley before Temelci linked up with Maidstone.
Head of football John Still said: "He came in and trained really well and played in a friendly against Dover.
"We felt he might have something we can look at and go forward with.
"With the greatest of respect we said we can't offer you a contract but we've got lots of games, do you want to come in and earn something and straight away he said yes.
"We liked him and the players were saying he looked decent.
"He didn't need any persuading, which is always good.
"He's got on with it and he hasn't looked out of place at all.
"He's shown some things we're more than pleased with and we've made it clear to him that if he wants to do it, he can earn himself something here."
