Former Maidstone winger Kaiyne Woolery scored an injury-time winner for Bolton Wanderers on Saturday - his first goal in professional football.

Woolery came off the bench to complete a 2-1 victory over Rotherham as Neil Lennon's side climbed off the foot of the Championship.

It completed a memorable week for the 21-year-old who made his first Trotters start in a 2-2 draw at Wolves last Tuesday night, before being replaced by ex-England striker Emile Heskey.

Woolery told Bolton's website: "This week has moved so fast for me but I’m delighted to have paid the gaffer and the team back in some way by scoring the winner today.

"I can’t describe the feeling – especially with it being my first goal, I’m just over the moon.

"With them being relegation rivals too, it makes it all the more special.”

Former Soccer Elite scholar Woolery made 32 appearances for Maidstone in his breakthrough season in men's football in 2012-13, earning a move to Conference club Tamworth.

He briefly returned to the Gallagher on loan before clinching a move to the pro ranks with Bolton.
