Ditton's Barry Hawkins beats Hammah Mia 6-2 at the Betway UK Snooker Championships

Ditton's Barry Hawkins reeled off six frames in a row to reach the second round of the Betway UK Championship.
The No.10 seed was too good for Hammah Miah, making breaks of 96 and 90 on his way to victory at the Barbican in York.
However Hawkins admits he’ll need to more clinical if he’s to challenge for this year's title.
He said: “It was bits and pieces out there to be honest.I was more impressed with my attitude. I missed balls but I didn’t let it affect me.
“I went 2-0 down after being ahead in the second frame. I tried to stay calm and I was happy to be 2-2 at the interval. I played a bit better and I need to be a bit more clinical going on.
“I’ve been trying to play myself into the last few tournaments. I’m waiting to hit a bit of form.
“I’m practising hard and trying hard and I need to build the confidence up, really. I can always play well in the next round.
“Form can suddenly come. You can go out there and it clicks and falls into place. You saw Neil Robertson click into gear earlier and it can happen.
“I’ll just have to keep working and keep punching. I want to win and that’s the main thing. The confidence has drained the past couple of months but I’m pushing forward.”
Hawkins will face world No.84 Sunny Akani in the last 32 on Tuesday evening but after seeing Mark Selby and Ding Junhui fall down to low-ranked cuemen, the 38-year-old is taking nobody for a fool
He said: “The Ding Junhui outcome was an unbelievably freakish result. Shaun Murphy was very lucky too and Liam Highfield will be kicking himself.
“You can get beaten by anyone if you don’t turn up and play. I’m pleased to be here playing snooker and in the last 32.”
