Trump pulled it back to a single frame, reducing Hawkins’ lead to 7-6, before the Kent man regained control to take the win and a £20,000 prize. He’s just two wins away now from the £150,000 top prize.

Hawkins said: “I'm just delighted to get such a big win. He's been playing unbelievable stuff.” He added: I don't think I've beaten Ronnie in about 20 years."

O’Sullivan booked his place in the semi-finals with a 10-8 victory over John Higgins.

Saturday’s sessions take place at 1pm and 7pm. The final will be played on Sunday.
