Barry Hawkins will meet Judd Trump in the 2021 Tour Championship

Barry Hawkins faces world number one Judd Trump today in the 2021 Tour Championship.
The Ditton potter squeezed into the list of the top eight players thanks to his performance at the WST Pro Series last Friday.
Hawkins finished third in his group during the second stage of the series, narrowly missing out on qualifying for the final group stage, as Sam Craigie and Jack Lisowski progressed as the top two players. He did just enough, however, to claim his place in this week’s championship event.
It’s the leading eight players, based on their total points over the year, that compete in the Tour Championship.
He landed the final place in the field for the event at the Celtic Manor Resort, Newport. There is £380,000 up for grabs in Wales, with £150,000 going to the winner.
Hawkins, 41, would pocket £20,000 by beating Trump and reaching the semi-finals where Ronnie O’Sullivan is ready and waiting.
The Rocket beat John Higgins 10-8 on Monday. The semi-finals take place on Friday and Saturday and the final is on Sunday.
