Maidstone United striker Frannie Collin is backing himself to solve the club's goalscoring woes

Frannie Collin has backed himself to help solve Maidstone’s goalscoring problems if he’s given a substantial run in the team.
Collin, who’s been a peripheral figure at the Gallagher Stadium this season, took Adam Birchall’s place up front this week.
Starts against Truro on Saturday and Whitehawk on Tuesday were only his third and fourth in the league after Collin was dropped and then sent on loan to Ryman League Herne Bay.
Maidstone have scored just 20 goals in as many games in National League South and Collin wants to be the man who improves that record.
He said: “I’ve never doubted my ability to score goals. It’s just a case of me getting myself match fit and if I do that, of course I’m confident I’ll score goals.
“Jay (Saunders) said he was going to give me a little run in the side.
“A few of the other boys have had runs and I haven’t. I’ve been in and out pretty much all season, spent most of the time on the bench, so I just want to have a run of games to get my sharpness back more than anything.
“When you’re not playing, you can do all you want in the gym and all the running you want but it’s match minutes and sharpness you need. I feel like I’m getting sharper, quicker and fitter, so hopefully I can build on it.”
