Jack Richards has left Maidstone after rejecting a new deal.
The popular midfielder always looked likely to leave the Gallagher Stadium having barely featured this season but was still offered a contract.
Richards, who turns 20 today, is desperate to play regular football and has decided to move on.
Head coach Hakan Hayrettin said: “I wish Jack all the best.
"For him to go on and better his career he needs to make sure he stays injury-free and shows determination and dedication wherever he goes.
"I hope he works hard and proves to people what he's capable of.
“It’s how far he wants to take it. I hope he does well.”
Richards joined Maidstone aged 12, progressing through the youth ranks and academy to reach the first-team squad.
He made his debut as a 16-year-old in the Stones' National South promotion-winning season and scored the winner on his first National League start against Wrexham in 2017/18.
The wideman went out on loan several times to clubs including Welling, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Faversham.
He spoke about his uncertain future at Maidstone towards the end of the season.
