Maidstone United striker Zac Attwood explains his decision to join the club from Kent rivals Margate

Zac Attwood’s conscience is clear after his swift exit from Margate to join Maidstone.
The striker only signed for Gate in the summer and scored three goals in five starts under joint-managers Craig Holloway and Simon Osborn before moving to United.
Blues were unhappy with the nature of non-contract player Attwood’s departure but the 24-year-old, who lined up against Stones last week, is confident he’s made the right decision.
He said: “The ambition of Maidstone was enough for me and the chance to play in front of 2,000 people at Ryman Premier level is a massive plus.
“I’d heard good things about Jay Saunders (boss) and the boys, and it was an easy decision.
“Jay showed me around the place on Monday night and the stadium’s brilliant.
“I live in Bexhill, so it’s also a lot closer to home too. I got on well with both managers at Margate, especially Simon.
“I said to him the travelling was too hard and Maidstone was a good option, although he disagreed with that.
“I hope there’s no ill feeling at Margate as I’ve tried to leave on good terms. A few people weren’t happy but that’s football and you can’t please everybody."
