Rosie Galligan scored a hat-trick of tries for England in their big Women’s Rugby World Cup win on Sunday over South Africa while fellow Kent player Shaunagh Brown also scored.
West Malling’s Galligan - one of six players making their first appearance in the tournament - was driven over for her first try after six minutes in the 75-0 victory in her player-of-the-match display at the Waitakere Stadium.
After Galligan's opener, Poppy Cleall barged over and the rolling maul delivered another try for 24-year-old Galligan and one for Medway’s Brown, 32, who was called into the matchday squad, along with Ellie Kildunne, due to injuries.
Hooker Connie Powell scored a hat-trick of tries of her own, Cleall added a second and there was also two tries for Sadia Kabeya, Marlie Packer and Abby Dow dotting down as well.
They top Pool C and have set up a quarter-final against Australia this Sunday.
The Red Roses’ victory also confirms Wales' place in the last eight where they will face hosts New Zealand on Saturday.
