Margate missed the chance to go four points clear at the top of the Ryman League Premier Division after a 3-1 defeat at Enfield on Tuesday night.
Nathan Livings gave Enfield a half-time lead but Ryan Moss levelled two minutes after the break and it looked like Blues would push on.
But Ryan Doyle's penalty and a late third from Liam Hope saw Terry Brown's men suffer their third league defeat of the season.
Folkestone moved up to third place in Ryman League Division 1 South after a 5-0 win at South Park.
Paul Booth opened the scoring, then Ian Draycott struck twice in eight minutes before half-time.
A second for Booth was followed by a Jordan Wright goal.
Faversham are a point off top spot after a 3-1 win at Kent rivals Whitstable.
Jamie Maxted put Town in front early in the second half.
Josh Stanford and Wayne Wilson moved Ray Turner's men clear in the last 10 minutes before Ian Pulman's late consolation.
Improving Hythe Town scored four times in the last 20 minutes to beat Redhill 4-1.
Trailing to Javcon Campbell's first-half opener, two goals from Jordan Wells, a Bradley Duke own goal and Ashley Miller's injury-time strike moved Hythe up to 16th place.
Thamesmead lost 3-0 at Wroxham in Ryman League Division 1 North.
