Olonga on his way to Lashings
00:00, 11 April 2003
ZIMBABWEAN paceman Henry Olonga’s arrival in Kent to play for Maidstone-based Lashings is “imminent”, it has been announced.
Lashings chief executive David Folb says Olonga has been granted a work permit by the British government and should arrive in the country in the next few days.
Olonga would play for the international Lashings team this summer.
Folb added he was still hopeful that banned Australian spinner Shane Warne would be allowed to sign for the club, while New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming will also play for Lashings in a one-off match in August.
