Maidstone RFC coach Paul Hathaway reflects on his side's 100% record at halfway stage of the London 2 South East season ahead of visit of Ashford

Maidstone Rugby Club have a perfect record at the halfway stage of the London 2 South East season.
Last weekend’s 32-3 victory over Deal & Betteshanger means the Stones have beaten every team in the division.
They hold a nine-point lead over second-placed Medway going into their final game before Christmas – a home match against Ashford on Saturday.
Coach Paul Hathaway said: “We’ve played 10 games and won them all which is good by any stretch of the imagination. Deal were the last team we had to negotiate and the scoreline against them reflects what we can do.
“The opposition don’t want to allow you to play, so it’s a case of being attritional and patient and controlling the big moments."
Maidstone were 34-21 winners at Ashford in September and Hathaway is looking forward to another lively game.
He added: “Ashford are a team who score tries and are happy to run the ball from most places.
"When we played there earlier in the season we hadn’t set our systems in place but we know what we’re doing now. I’m confident we’ll win the game.”
