KENT'S Jenni Pereira has earned an international call up after finishing sixth in the European 5K cross country trials at Parliament Heath.
Pereira, 19, from Maidstone, was drafted into the Great Britain junior squad after surging through the field to finish in a time of 17.50.
The Medway & Maidstone athlete, currently in the second year of a geography degree at St Mary’s Twickenham, represented her country earlier this year in an IAAF event in Lisbon.
However, she missed out on selection for the World Championships in Brussels after a freak training accident when she slid on ice and broke her wrist.
Pereira is about to turn senior and this was her last chance to earn selection for a major international event.
