Maidstone’s miserable season hit a new low when they were thrashed by Solihull on live TV.
Jermaine Hylton’s hat-trick and a Darren Carter free-kick had the National League title-chasers 4-0 up by half-time, with Ade Yussuf adding an injury-time fifth.
Defeat - their heaviest this season - leaves Maidstone 13 points from safety and looking almost certain to go down with only 11 games remaining.
Solihull could have been two up by the time they broke the deadlock with Dan Wishart denying Danny Wright on the line and making an excellent challenge on Nathan Blissett as the big forward raced in on goal.
A big, physical Moors were all over the Stones and took the with lead a cheap opener in the 10th minute as George Carline’s long throw was flicked on by Liam Daly to the unmarked Hylton.
Tim Flowers’ side doubled the lead four minutes later after Simon Walton’s foul on Wright gave Carter the chance to bend a 20-yard free-kick into the bottom corner.
Stones boss John Still had started the evening in the stands but was soon on the touchline in a bid to arrest the dreadful start.
But a third followed in the 26th minute when another Carline long throw came off Will De Havilland and was poked in by Hylton for his second goal.
Hylton completed his hat-trick in the 33rd minute with a cheeky penalty after Wishart dived in on Wright.
Fortunately for Maidstone, Solihull eased off for the rest of the half, not that Flowers was too happy about it on the touchline.
Hylton could have had his fourth following a defensive mix-up at the start of the second half but Moors didn’t look in any great hurry to push for further goals.
That allowed Maidstone to get into the game a bit, with a couple of good breaks from Blair Turgott, making his first start since November.
That said, Jamey Osborne dragged an effort wide then substitute Yussuf was thwarted by Henry, with Moors missing out on the follow-up.
Jake Embery made his debut in place of Turgott and within moments pounced on a mistake in the home defence to race through, but Ryan Boot made a good save diving low to his left.
Yussuf completed the scoring with a nice finish in the final minute of added time.
Maidstone: Henry, S Donnellan, De Havilland, Walton, Wishart, Muldoon, Phillips, Powell, Amaluzor (L Donnellan 90mins), Romain, Turgott (Embery 76mins). Subs not used: Meredith, Paxman, Lewington.
Attendance: 956.
