Aylesford Football Club’s youngsters may be in isolation but the team can still play.
The under-11 Royals are being set challenges by their coaches throughout the coronavirus lockdown and they nailed this one.
A 15-pass move was filmed individually and then combined to produce a flowing display that would grace the Nou Camp in Barcelona.
Their clip included a cheeky back-heel, a one-touch on a segboard and a knock from one of the kids in a garden that definitely needs mowing.
Even the introduction of a dog didn’t put the lads off.
The team on display are a development level side, with a diverse range of footballing abilities, where the focus is on fun and individual growth rather than results.
Assistant manager Lloyd Green said: “Our focus is on their growth as young men first, and as athletes second.
“Many of the team have played together since they were seven and a core all attend the local primary schools in the village. They have a deep friendship and a growing awareness of the world around them.
“That's why they have all committed to this fun video and our previous challenges with such energy.”
Weekly challenges will continue to be set while in isolation, both as individuals and a team.
Their coach added: “Team-work and developing friendships are important aspects of any team sport.
“We want our kids to understand how important it is for them to support each other and to always be positive towards their team-mates, no matter what challenges they face, whether that's a tough match or isolation because of a virus.
We are immensely proud of what the boys have achieved this year, on and off the pitch!”
