Alessia Russo scored on her return to Kent on Wednesday night.
The England international, who turned 25 last week, was playing for Arsenal Women at London City Lionesses, who play their home games at Dartford’s Princes Park.
Arsenal ran out comfortable 4-0 winners against their lower-league opponents in the last eight of the League Cup to set up a semi-final against Aston Villa.
Maidstone-born Russo was only named as a substitute but came on to loud cheers from a 4,000 sell-out crowd with 20 minutes remaining.
She took just three minutes to make her mark, heading in a right-wing cross from Frida Maanum as the ball squirmed under keeper Grace Moloney.
Born and bred in Maidstone, Russo attended East Farleigh Primary School and St Simon Stock Secondary School.
She played youth football for West Farleigh and Bearsted before being picked up by Charlton Athletic. She’s also played for Brighton and Manchester United.
