With Margate's game at Met Police postponed, the Stones are now five points clear of Dulwich Hamlet, who moved above Gate with a 3-1 win at Bury.
Tonbridge Angels eased their relegation fears with a win over play-off chasing East Thurrock United.
Tommy Whitnell put Angels in front in the 12th minute and doubled the advantage 11 minutes later to put them in control, before Joe Taylor made it 3-0 right on half-time.

Meanwhile VCD remain in the relegation places, a point from safety, after drawing 2-2 against Leiston.
Stephen Rhys Brown gave VCD the lead on 17 minutes, but a goal either side of the break from Joe Francis put the away side 2-1 up.
However, Nick Reeves fired VCD level just after the hour mark, as they picked up a point despite Sevdar Bokciu receiving a late red card.
In Division 1 South, Whitstable maintained their push for the play-offs with a 4-1 derby win against Sittingbourne.
Joe Kane gave Town an early lead, before two goals in two minutes from Kane Rowland at the start of the second half put Whitstable in charge.
Ian Pulman added a fourth after the break to keep Town five points off the play-offs, as joint-managers Jim and Danny Ward got revenge over their former club, after a 3-0 reverse at Woodstock Park earlier in the season.
Peter Smith score Bourne's late consolation.
Herne Bay also stayed five points outside the play-offs with a 2-0 derby success at Ramsgate.

Folkestone consolodated their fourth spot after Matt Newman's goal just before half-time earned them a 1-0 win against Hastings.
Hythe, meanwhile, suffered their first defeat since Boxing Day, as they went down to a battling 3-2 defeat at play-off chasing Whyteleafe.
Jensen Grant and Roscoe DSane put the home side 2-0 up after 46 minutes before two goals in three second-half minutes from Laurence Harvey and Shaun Welford brought Town level.
However they couldn't see out the final 15 minutes and Whyteleafe struck the winner through Jordan Bird with seven minutes remaining.
In Division 1 North, Chatham fought back from two goals down to earn a point against Thamesmead.
Lee Coburn gave the visitors lead in the 15th minute and Michael Spencer added a second eight minutes later.
