There was another twist in the Ryman League Premier Division title race as Maidstone extended their advantage to 10 points.

Two goals from Jay May helped Maidstone to a 2-1 win against Lewes, while second-placed Margate slipped to a 2-2 draw at Canvey Island.

Gate had fought back from a goal down to lead thanks to strikes by Jamie Taylor and Freddie Ladapo, only to concede a penalty five minutes from time.

Gate are now 10 points behind the Stones with two games in hand.

Tonbridge Angels are just six points above the drop zone following a 1-0 defeat against promotion-chasing Hendon. Kezie Ibe scored the winner after 55 minutes.

VCD, meanwhile, remain in the bottom four after they were beaten at home against Peacehaven & Telscombe.

Two first-half goals from Jamie Brotherton, either side of a red card for VCD's Grant Basey leaves Athletic four points from safety.

In Division 1 South, Folkestone were the big winners of the day sealing a 5-2 home win against Guernsey in the early kick-off.

Jordan Wright and Ian Draycott put Invicta 2-0 up before Ross Allen pulled one back.

After the break Draycott bagged his second and Ashley Miller made it 4-1, but Allen scored again to give the visitors hope.

Wright, however, made sure of the win in the final minute as Folkestone moved to within two points of second-placed Faversham.

The Lilywhites stay just ahead of Invicta despite losing 3-2 at home to play-off chasing Whyteleafe.

The visitors raced into a 3-0 first-half lead through a Jason Henry double and one from Greg Andrews.

Faversham hit back in the second half with two goals in five minutes from Josh Stanford and Wayne Wilson, but they couldn't find a leveller in the remaining 13 minutes.

Herne Bay's play-off bid took a slight hit when they lost 1-0 at home to unbeaten league leaders Burgess Hill Town. Lee Harding scoring the only goal right on half-time.

Whitstable are three points outside of the final play-off spot, a point behind Herne Bay, after they won 2-0 at bottom side Horsham thanks to second-half goals from Tom Loynes and Ian Pulman.

At the other end of the table, Ramsgate moved out of the bottom three after producing a stunning fightback against play-off chasing Worthing.

Rams fell two goals behind after Joe Gromett's first-half double and had Curtis Robinson sent off.

However, Tom Hickman pulled one back three minutes before half-time and second-half goals from Simon Pettit and Aaron Quain in the final 19 minutes sealed the win that lifts them a point above the relegation zone.

A dramatic finish at Woodstock Park saw Sittingbourne move nine points clear of the drop zone after winning 2-1 against East Grinstead Town.

Adam Williams put the Brickies in front after 54 minutes before Romario Hart levelled in the 90th minute for Town.

But, Sittingbourne were not finished and Hicham Akhazzan restored the home side's lead in injury time.

Meanwhile Hythe's recent run of good form ended with a 4-0 defeat at fourth-placed Merstham.

Tom Howard gave the hosts a first-half lead before former Maidstone midfielder Fabio Saraiva struck twice, once from the spot, to extend the home side's advantage before Simon Cooper struck a fourth late on.

In Division 1 North, Chatham gave their survival hopes a boost with a win at home to Maldon & Tiptree.

Lewis Knight scored the only goal in the 72nd minute to lift Chats six points clear of the drop zone, though they have played more games than the sides below them.

Cray remain in trouble, 13 points from safety, with just 10 games left after losing at home to leaders Needham Market.

Two goals from Michael Brothers and a Sam Newson strike opened up a 3-0 lead at the break for the visitors, before an Ollie Brown own goal in the second half gave Cray some hope.

Elsewhere, Thamesmead won 1-0 at Soham Town Rangers thanks to Derek Duncan's first-half goal.
