Scoresight - can you beat our pundit, football manager and fan in Saturday's football predictions?
00:00, 11 August 2017
Know your Kent football? Here's your chance to prove it by beating a panel of football experts in our new weekly feature - Scoresight.
In this week's opening instalment, the panel is made up of KentOnline sports journalist Alex Hoad, Ray Turner, manager of Bostik South promotion-chasers Faversham Town, and Gills fan Henry Collier.
The four games chosen for the panel to mull over this week are Gillingham v Bradford in League 1, Dover at home to Wrexham and Maidstone's trip to Leyton Orient in the National League and Ashford's first game back in Bostik South, at home to Carshalton.
A perfect scoreline secures three points for the predictor while a correct result (win, lose or draw) earns a point.
First up, it's Ray Turner, long-time manager at the Shepherd Neame Stadium:
Gillingham 2-1 Bradford
I know Gills haven't scored in their first couple of games but they're going to want to get off to a good start at home and I think they will.
Dover 1-0 Wrexham
Dover have been really consistent over the past few years and even though they lost at home on Tuesday, they don't often lose back-to-back games.
Leyton Orient 2-2 Maidstone
It's a tough game for Jay Saunders and his side but I think they'll come away with something to put the disappointment of Tuesday's loss to Ebbsfleet behind them.
Ashford 2-3 Carshalton
Carshalton are accustomed to playing on a 3G surface and both sides are stronger attacking-wise than they are in defence so I think it will be a high-scoring one.
Next it's Henry Collier, who travels home and away with Gills:
Gillingham 1-1 Bradford Gills are looking much stronger defensively and will grind out a draw against a decent Bradford team who'll be looking to bounce back from defeat on Tuesday.
Dover 1-1 Wrexham
After a week of highs and lows I think Dover will be somewhere in the middle on Saturday to make it four points from three games.
Leyton Orient 2-1 Maidstone
Orient will follow up their win on Tuesday with another. It won't be easy against a well-organised Maidstone team hoping to bounce back from defeat at Ebbsfleet.
Ashford 2-1 Carshalton
Ashford will continue on from last season's title and promotion and scrape over the line here.
Last but not least, KentOnline's Alex Hoad:
Gillingham 1-0 Bradford
They might have drawn a blank in their first two games of the season, but I fancy them to nick this one and keep it tight at the back.
Dover 2-1 Wrexham
New-look Dover could have scored six in their midweek defeat to Bromley and though Wrexham have recruited well this summer, I see Dover making it four wins in the seven games against Wrexham since their promotion, with the other three drawn.
Leyton Orient 1-1 Maidstone
I can see Maidstone bouncing back from the derby defeat in midweek and maybe nicking a late goal to get a point from a big occasion at a big ground.
Ashford 2-1 Carshalton
This is not going to be 0-0, that's for sure. Ashford don't often score less than two and with it being their first game back at this level, I can see them rising to the occasion.
