Head of football John Still was happy to be back in the Maidstone dugout after a couple of scouting trips.
Still missed matches against Havant and Eastleigh, leaving head coach Hakan Hayrettin in charge, but returned to the touchline at Wrexham.
He's reluctant to miss games but it was a decision made with the club's summer rebuild in mind.
Still said: "I’ve missed being in the dugout, to be honest.
“You work all week, you want to do games but the recruitment is vital for us now, it really is.
“So I need to have a bit of responsibility for some of that and that was a choice I made of did I go to Eastleigh on Tuesday and not come to Wrexham, or do I not go to Eastleigh and come here?
“Part of my responsibility now is to do that.
“We’ve got a terrific scouting system but we’re at the end of the season and decisions have to be made and sometimes there and then.
“I’ve done a little bit of that but it’s better being at the games.”
