Defender Tom Fitzgerald bagged a hat-trick in Corinthian’s Southern Counties East Premier Division win over Snodland on Saturday.
Forward Henry Arnold put Michael Golding’s men into a ninth-minute lead, only for forward Nathan Jeche to equalise for Snodland with a penalty.
But Fitzgerald then took over in remarkable style with a goal in the first half and two more after the break in Corinthian’s 4-1 home victory that leaves last term’s play-off finalists in fifth spot.
Premier Division leaders VCD bounced back from their first league loss of the campaign with a 4-2 victory at home to Kennington.
Goals from Lee Bird and Bethel Gboda sandwiched an Ollie Freeman brace as the Vickers raced into a 4-0 half-time advantage and, while Ton got on the scoresheet through Adam Phillips and captain Tom Scorer, the damage had been done.
Faversham also responded to a midweek defeat, winning 3-1 at home to Stansfeld in front of a crowd of 349 at Salters Lane to move up to second.
Johan Caney-Bryan gave them a second-minute advantage.
The visitors replied through Ibrahim Barrie but Caney-Bryan repeated the dose - also striking early in the second period - before fellow forward Tashi-Jay Kwayie got Town’s third.
Tommy Warrilow’s Lilywhites took advantage of a slip-up by third-placed Punjab, beaten 4-1 at second-bottom Lydd.
Jack Hopkins gave Chipie Sian’s side a half-time lead but they then had Jordan Campbell sent-off as second-half strikes by Sam Adams, Ronnie Dolan, Stefan Payne and substitute Tom Walmsley allowed the Lydders to make full use of their numerical advantage.
Matt Day scored late to rescue a point for Larkfield & New Hythe from their 1-1 Premier Division draw at Holmesdale.
Mid-table Whitstable struck twice in quick succession to run out 2-0 winners at Tunbridge Wells.
Nine minutes after a goalless first half, striker Harvey Smith converted a penalty and midfielder Josh Oliver got a second for Jamie Coyle’s troops before the hour mark.
Glebe beat Hollands & Blair 4-0 through goals from Daniel Vaughan, Paul Lee, Jamie Philpot and substitute Red Jenkins.
Bearsted went down 3-0 at Erith & Belvedere on a forgettable afternoon.
Ladic Melconian put the hosts ahead on 15 minutes and second-half goals from Joe Chalker and Dieko Falade ensured there was no comeback from Kevin Stevens’ side.
Rusthall edged a seven-goal game at Lordswood in dramatic fashion.
Goals from Elliott Duncan (2) and Bradley Schafer had Nicky Southall’s side 3-2 up, despite first-half goals from Yassin Fares and Jack Lyons, and with Lords’ Jake Embery and Rusthall’s Louis Anderson having been red-carded, going into the final stages.
But Kalani Barton equalised for Rusthall at the end of normal time and Fares’ second of the afternoon proved to be a stoppage-time winning goal.
Canterbury City are only two points off the Division 1 summit after a 4-3 victory at Rochester United.
The match was level, heading into the final stages as Mo Cham and Leighton Murray scored to cancel out each of Jack Nelson’s two goals.
Rochester then went in front on 92 minutes through Mack Reilly, only for City substitute Leo Dodds to equalise three minutes later.
And in the eighth minute of injury time, defender Simon Kabamba won it for Danny Lawrence’s team.
Faversham Strike Force, who are also in the play-off places, claimed a 1-0 victory at Forest Hill Park thanks to playmaker Marshall Wratten’s second-half penalty.
Staplehurst drew 1-1 at home to SC Thamesmead, Callum Gallie cancelling out a first-half penalty.
Sheppey Sports beat Welling Town 3-1 at home.
David Falako put Sheppey Sports in front in first-half injury time but Joel Wakefield equalised and substitute Beau Cook-Bartholomew completed the comeback with three minutes to play. Jahmal Hector-Ingram then sealed the win with an injury-time penalty.
Resilent Greenways fought back to edge a five-goal game at Meridian VP.
Rami Hallouffi and Michael Ogunbo had the home team 2-0 up by the half-time interval.
But a Harvey Donnelly double, sandwiched by a solitary strike by Ibs Goswell, ensured it was Greenways who took the points.
