Maidstone United duo Joan Luque and Regan Booty sign new contracts at the Gallagher Stadium

Joan Luque and Regan Booty have signed new deals with Maidstone keeping them at the club until the end of next season.
Manager Hakan Hayrettin was keen to tie down the pair and is also in talks with Sam Corne over a contract extension as United plan for the future.
Winger Luque is the Stones’ leading scorer with 11 goals while central midfielder Booty has provided the most assists, with seven to his name.
They will be key players next season, whatever division Maidstone are in.
“They’re integral parts of what we’re trying to do,” said boss Hayrettin.
“I spoke to the club and recommended we get them signed and we’re in negotiations with Sam Corne.
“I just want to get on with my job and I think it’s important to start looking at contracts.
“They’re players of real quality who have been really good for us.
“Booty’s an exceptional player. I knew I wanted him when he played in a behind-closed-doors friendly last season against Watford.
“He wasn’t fit then but I knew the calibre of player he was and I could see the potential.
“When he comes to you and says he’s found a home where he’s happy and can see the vision and wants to be part of it, you want to tie him down as quickly as possible.
“I’m probably the only one who’s got the best of Luque.
“He’s done it in spurts at other clubs but he’s only really performed consistently for me and I love him to bits.
“He’s a great character, a great personality, great fun to be around and he’s understood that it’s not just about his ability to make things happens, it’s about working hard for the team as well.”
Corne is the next one to tick off and Hayrettin, who’s been named manager-of-the-month for December, hopes more will follow.
“We’re speaking to Sam, he’s been one of our best players,” said Hayrettin.
“He’s been excellent for the last two or three months.
“He’s another one who’s important in what I’m doing and there’s others that should be following soon.”
