Maidstone to make move for defender with Manny Parry and Callum Davies the only fit centre-halves

Stones are looking for a new defender following Jamie Coyle’s knee injury.
Manager Jay Saunders wants to bring in help for Manny Parry and Callum Davies, who are the only fit centre-halves.
If Maidstone are frustrated in the transfer market, they could even turn to academy youngster Will Thomas, who has been on trial at League 1 Colchester.
Saunders said: “It is something we’re looking at. We’ve got Will Thomas in the academy. He’s been on trial at Colchester this week but he’s a player I think can come in and do a job.
“We’ve also got Reece Butler, who’s out on loan at Chatham, so we have got lads I think can come in.
“Bobby-Joe Taylor can play left-back and Tom Mills can play centre-half so we’ve got options but I have been making a few calls. The deadline’s in a couple of weeks so I will be trying to get cover.”
Coyle is expected to be out at least a month.
