Maidstone United back in National South action after avoiding FA Trophy replay
08:11, 01 December 2015
Jay May's injury-time winner in the FA Trophy gives Maidstone the chance to crack on with their magnificent league form.
Stones were heading for a Tuesday night replay against Ryman League Hampton & Richmond before May gave them a 1-0 victory on Saturday.
They're now free to take on National South promotion rivals Maidenhead at the Gallagher Stadium tonight instead (7.45pm).
Second-placed Stones are unbeaten since the end of August and produced one of their best performances this season in a 2-0 win at Maidenhead in September.
Boss Jay Saunders said: "I really didn't want a replay knowing that we'd then have to move Maidenhead back again, so it was nice to get through.
"We played well at Maidenhead and I've said to the lads we’ve got to be up for it because they’ll be wanting to come to us and turn that around.
"We’re on a good run and we just want to keep that going.
"It’s the start of three big games for us. Maidenhead, Truro and then Whitehawk are all teams that are up there so if we can come out of them with good points it puts us in a good position."
