MAIDSTONE United have pulled off a major transfer coup by signing prolific striker Steve Marshall from Ryman Premier Division side Purfleet.
Manager Jim Ward has been keen to sign Marshall since the start of the season and the 30-year-old is set for a Bass Brewers Kent League debut against his former club Deal Town on Saturday (Kick-off 3pm).
Marshall, who was part of Deal's FA Carlsberg Vase winning side in 2000, appeared for Stones in a 5-3 friendly win against a Margate XI at Hartsdown Park on Wednesday night, scoring twice.
He has scored more than 150 goals in the last six seasons and netted eight times in 19 appearances for Purfleet this campaign after joining them from Ashford.
