NEVER underestimate the magic of the FA Cup. The competition always throws up a fairytale or two, and for one 18-year-old Kent footballer December's third round draw did just that.
Paul Jones from Maidstone will line up in goal for Conference side Exeter City this weekend against Premiership giants Manchester United at Old Trafford.
As an young player, Old Trafford is a venue everyone aspires to perform and its capacity of more than 67,000 is a far cry from the gates Jones plays in front of each week at Brisbane Road.
When Jones signed on loan for Exeter from Leyton Orient such an occasion would have been nothing more than a dream. He just wanted to play as well as he could for his new club in the Conference and try and earn a new deal.
But he made a flying start to his Brisbane Road career by saving a penalty with his first touch for the club, and Jones has since impressed enough to earn a start against the mighty Red Devils.
KM-fm Sports Editor Simon Watts interviewed Paul's dad, Roger Jones, who still lives and works in the County Town, about his son's big day...
