Alfie Pavey - the striker who scored 300 goals for Maidstone’s academy - is back at the Gallagher.
Pavey has rejoined the Stones after leaving National League Barnet and can’t wait to get started.
Stones chief executive Bill Williams got the ball rolling and Maidstone have a prolific forward on their hands.
“It’s great to be back,” Pavey, 25, told Stones TV.
“It’s obviously where I started my playing career.
“I got a phone call, from Bill, just seeing what my plans were really.
“The deal took some time to get done but we’re here now and I can’t wait to get going.”
Pavey’s golden spell with Maidstone’s academy - including 124 goals in his final season - earned a two-year scholarship with Millwall in 2013.
He made several first-team appearances for the Lions, in the Championship and League 1, before signing for non-league Welling in 2017/18.
Pavey quickly moved on to Dartford, breaking the 20-goal barrier as Tony Burman’s side just missed out on the National South title.
He moved on to Havant and Dover before signing for Barnet and briefly returned to Dartford on loan last season.
Recalling his departure from Maidstone, Pavey said: “Our academy at the time was one of the best about and the team I was playing in was a very good team.
“I got my move to Millwall, which was a full-time scholarship, and it was a great experience.
“I learnt a lot about myself.
“When you’re young the first thing you want to do is be around the first team.
“When I was here in the academy, I had quite a taste of the first team under Jay Saunders and I think I travelled to Halifax away on a Tuesday night, which is not really what you wanted but it was good!
“The fact I was going into a professional environment and a Championship football club was massive.”
