Maidstone United boss Jay Saunders to hold talks with current squad before signing new players
13:30, 23 April 2015
Title-winning Maidstone boss Jay Saunders plans to tie up new deals for his current squad before moving into the transfer market.
Lee Worgan, Jack Parkinson, Tom Mills, Alex Flisher and Billy Bricknell are the only senior players contracted for next season.
Saunders intends to strengthen for United’s first season in Conference South but wants to keep the majority of his squad together.
He said: "Our main priority is to get the lads I’ve got already sorted out.
"It’s difficult when the league’s gone the distance like it has - you can’t plan for anything.
"Now we know, we can sit down and get our heads together on people we want and people we think might have to move.
"I don’t see massive changes. We’ve got to add to what we’ve got but obviously there will be changes because there always are."
