Maidstone new boy Tushaun Walters can't wait to get started at the Gallagher.

The winger has stepped up two levels from Isthmian South East Herne Bay to join United's National South promotion bid.

He's spent the past couple of seasons at Winch's Field, scoring 11 goals in 46 games and setting up plenty more from out wide.

Walters was on Tottenham's books for six years as a youth-team player and also had a season with Chelsea under-18s, making 13 appearances.

He's fared well in non-league at Abbey Rangers, Greenwich and Bay and is ready for his next challenge at Maidstone.

"I'm over the moon," he told Stones TV. "I've heard about the club, they're a very big club, and I want to live up to their expectations.

"I cant wait to get started and be part of the new team.

"Herne Bay treated me very well over the past two years. Unfortunately, due to Covid, we couldn't finish the season but they were good to me and I appreciate everything they did."

Walters dropped into non-league after leaving Spurs aged 15 but did so well at Abbey Rangers that Chelsea came calling.

He felt he did well in his year with the Blues, and has been trying to build himself back up since.

Maidstone have previous for helping players reach the Football League and can offer Walters a platform to shine.

That's a fact not lost on the player but the Stones are his priority.

He said: "Of course, you're always going to aim for higher but at this moment in time I just want to focus on Maidstone and trying to help the team get up."
