Maidstone United assistant manager Steve Ward has left the club after talks with boss Jay Saunders.
Childhood Stones fan Ward spent two years working under Saunders at the Gallagher Stadium but the Maidstone manager has decided to make a change.
Saunders said: "I am looking to freshen things up and although it was a difficult decision to make, I feel it's the right one for the team.
"Wardy's a good friend. He's been great to have around and has been a big part of the success we've had over the past couple of years.
"He will always be welcome at the Gallagher Stadium and I know the lads will join me in wishing him every success for the future."
Ward was known for his extrovert methods. Last season he dressed up as Brighton hero Steve Foster to inspire Stones players ahead of an FA Cup tie.
